Drafted into the US Army, September 24, 1968.
Received basic training at Fort Dix, New Jersey.
Received AIT training in Infantry at Fort Polk, Louisiana
with specialize training for Jungle warfare.
Eligibility for VFW - Deployed to Viet Nam in March 1969 to
March 1970
Duty was with the 9th Infantry Division operating in (Mekong
Delta).
Following return to the US, was stationed at Fort Hood,
Texas.
Awards and medals: Combat Infantry Badge; Bronze
Star Medal with "V” device; Air Medal; Army
Commendation; Vietnamese Cross of Gallantry w/palm; National Defense Medal;
Civil Action Medal w/Oak Leaf; Viet Nam
Service Medal w/2 Bronze Service Stars; Republic of Viet Nam Campaign Medal.
Inducted into NYS Senate Veterans Hall of Fame
Joined the Charles N. DeGlopper Memorial VFW Post 9249 in
1971
